Research and Innovation @ EPITESERA
The main objective is the development of a system that uses high end and innovative technologies in order to reduce the risk of potential loss of energy efficiency in buildings caused by the lack of knowledge or bad implementation of high performance energy components, during the construction processes.
ACCEPT will ensure the proper usage of the components during the building processes with the help of Smart Glasses coupled by two other applications, which will run on handheld devices, such as tablets or iPads and on desktop computers respectively. Thereby, a system of three components will be developed, which with the incorporation of Cyber-Physical elements, such as sensors, will collect and analyse data from the construction site and provide guidelines where needed, ensuring that all benefits of energy efficient building components are maintained.
The results of ACCEPT will be demonstrated within 7 real-world pilots in 4 different EU countries (UK, Spain, Belgium and Cyprus).
The project is expected to last for 36 months and is already on its second year. Over the past fourteen months the R&D team from EPITESSERA Architects have attended several international plenary meetings with the project consortium, which consists of eleven partners coming from seven different European countries and different disciplines.
