The school is arranged as a low, open campus, with teaching spaces connected by courtyards, covered walkways and generous external areas. Long rooflines and shaded colonnades respond naturally to Cyprus's climate, while strong blocks of colour give the classrooms their own identity within an otherwise restrained palette.
The theatre introduces a more civic character. Its glazed entrance sits beneath a deep projecting roof, creating a generous shaded threshold between inside and outside. The transparency of the foyer allows the building to remain visually connected to the school and surrounding public space, while giving the theatre a distinct presence of its own
The Nikos Mouyiaris Amphitheatre gives the school a wider civic role, creating a dedicated 500-seat venue for performances, events and community gatherings. Inside, the auditorium is more immersive and controlled, with raked seating focused towards the stage and acoustic wall and ceiling treatments shaping both the sound and the character of the room
Deep blue surfaces, warm timber seating and suspended acoustic elements give the theatre a strong visual identity without overwhelming the performances themselves. As part of the wider school complex, the amphitheatre extends the building's life beyond the classroom, allowing it to serve Athienou as both an educational and cultural space.
